Call the Texas hotlines and helplines below and the counselor will listen to you and, if needed, guide you to local help and support. Calls are always confidential and you can remain anonymous. Most of the hotlines and helplines are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, unless otherwise noted.

If this is an emergency, call 911.

An emergency is any situation that requires immediate assistance from the police, fire department or ambulance, such as:

  • A person is a danger to himself/herself or others
  • You are in danger
  • A fire
  • A crime, especially if in progress
  • A car crash, especially if someone is injured
  • A medical emergency, such as someone who is unconscious, gasping for air or not breathing, experiencing an allergic reaction, a drug overdose, having chest pain, having uncontrollable bleeding, or any other symptoms that require immediate medical attention

If you’re not sure whether the situation is a true emergency, call 911 and let the 911 operator determine whether you need emergency help. Read Tips for Calling 911>>>
