Al-Anon and Alateen in New York State  888-4AL-ANON (888-425-2666)  The Al-Anon Family Groups are a fellowship of relatives and friends of alcoholics who share their experience, strength, and hope, in order to solve their common problems. Alateen is for young people, usually teenagers, whose lives have been affected by someone’s else’s drinking.

Parent to Parent of New York State  800-305-8817  Statewide organization that provides information, support, referrals, and trainings to families of individuals with special needs and to the professionals who serve them. Find your regional office>>>

Regis High School  212-288-1100  Tuition-free Jesuit college preparatory education to Roman Catholic young men from the New York metro area who demonstrate superior intellectual and leadership potential. In the admissions process, special consideration is given to those who cannot otherwise afford a Catholic education.

Riverdale Mental Health Association  718-796-5300  Child and adolescent program, substance abuse treatment. Services are offered on a low-cost sliding scale to individuals living in the Northwest Bronx, Upper Manhattan, and Westchester County. No one is refused treatment for inability to pay.

The Children’s Aid Society  212-949-4800  Broad range of essential health, education and social services thatserves New York’s neediest children and their families at more than 40 locations in the five boroughs and Westchester County.

The Children’s Village  914-693-0600  Services include crisis help, residential and day youth schools and programs, Lower Hudson Valley Runaway & Homeless Youth Shelterfamily preservation and reunification, and community programs.  Located in New York City and Dobbs Ferry. 

The Puerto Rican Family Institute  212-924-6320  Services include mental health treatment, crisis intervention, HIV/AIDS testing, placement prevention, residential care and education. PRFI currently operates over 20 programs located throughout New York City, Jersey City, New Jersey, and Puerto Rico.

The Samaritans of New York City  212-673-3000 24 hour hotline  The only community-based organization in the NYC-Metropolitan area solely devoted to preventing suicide and helping people in crisis.
