The support groups listed below are all free of charge, confidential, informal, and facilitated by a group member, survivor, or other layperson.
Overcoming and healing from past wounds, present addictions, and stressful situations do not happen in isolation. We need to know that we are not alone. By bringing together people with common experiences and situations, support groups provide a safe place to share our stories, find understanding, and empower each other to cope with problems. In the support group community, we can learn new and healthy ways to think, feel and live.
We encourage parents who have teens with behavior problems to attend a group for support and guidance, such as Families Anonymous, Al-Anon, and Co-Dependents Anonymous (CoDA) ― all based on the 12-step model ― and Because I Love You, support groups for parents of troubled teens.
You’ll find that a support group can provide emotional help, practical coping skills and strategies, and empower you towards personal growth, positive changes, and healthy relationships.
